Seven Steps to Joy – Testimonials

With what I know now, I would not hesitate to do the Homebuilders Program again. In fact, I only wish I had done it sooner. The women at Family Christian Academy told me that I would see a change in my daughter, but I didn’t believe it at first. They told me that she and I would become closer. I felt this was only a dream, and far from becoming reality. To my surprise, seven months later, there is now a tremendous difference in her life and attitude. Living with her is so much easier now I have to say that I have been changed by all of this too. I owe a lot to the persons who put together this great and wonderful school program,* which should be called “Hope.” That is exactly what it is. The hope that a lot of parents are looking for, but cannot get in the public school system. Its a lifesaver!

This program was not only an inspiration, but also a hard awakening for myself I, as a father, have a lot to learn and change. I thank God for showing us the light, where to turn to, and how to learn from his Word. Open your heart and lower your shields, and let loving people not only fellowship with you, but help you put your family on a solid foundation in your home through the Lord Jesus Christ.

He can help you sort through all this garbage we are bombarded with constantly. It sounds like a bargain. I think I’ll take it. When I accepted it, all that old anger fell away… but then the seven weeks ended. What do I do now? I had, by this time, developed a need to hear this. It was like a weekly fuel stop. When I get fueled up, I can make it through the week. My focus is right, my Savior is with me. So there was nothing to do but keep coming back to the fuel station, and we have. The more you hear, the more you want to hear and the greater your joy. I believe the Holy Spirit attends these meetings and with the powerful inspiration from Pastor Paul, He can find the smallest crack in a hard heart. After that, your heart and mind open up to a wonderful blessing. That’s what Homebuilders has been to me. I feel sure the devil is grieving over losing me.

One of my favorite music stars was a satanic priest (Marilyn Manson). One of my best friends was named Mary Jane (marijuana). Smoking, drinking, and skipping school were top on my list of fun things. There were others that I would rather not mention. Fighting with my mom was top on my list of priorities when I got home. I called Family Christian Academy and got enrolled in home school. There was a hitch—Homebuilders. The first time I went, I was adamant that I would not be moved, but the second service got me and I was saved and asked forgiveness. I was happy but still did things I shouldn’t. I have since quit most of my ungodly habits and am trying to quit smoking. Every day I am thankful for Family Christian Academy and Homebuilders.

I really wanted for my wife to be able to educate herself at home—so we decided to attend the classes after all. At that time I didn’t realize these classes were going to change our lives completely and forever. I remember the very first session. I was taking cocaine and feeling out of this world. That was the last time I took cocaine, and the beginning of my new life in Christ.

This is a class everyone can benefit from and I encourage anyone who can attend, to do so. The Pastor says at the beginning of the class: “If you came here to get a blessing from this class, you’ll get a blessing. If you came here just to fulfill some obligation, and can’t wait for the class to end, you probably won’t get a blessing.” I say anyone who is simply exposed to this class will be getting a blessing. If you can go through the seven weeks of this teaching and you don’t feel blessed, you haven’t been paying attention.

I’ve learned more in these past seven weeks about the Bible, more than I probably would have in my whole life. My life has changed a lot since I’ve been through this program. I sit down and read the Bible to my baby and pray with her every night. I go to church. I hope a lot more changes happen for my family and friends.

Oh, but if only I had known about home schooling just a few short years ago. If only there had been a program such as the “Seven Steps to Joy.” What a difference it could have made…in my son’s life—in my whole family’s well-being.
